2018 Foreign Policy Students

	Abby Boyce is a freshman at the College, planning to double major in French and International Relations. She is from New Hope, PA, but absolutely loves her new home in Williamsburg. Abby hopes to work in international development, and maybe one day join the Peace Corps. So far, Abby is involved in TribeTHON and is planning to spend three weeks in Ghana this summer with S.P.A.I.D. The most transformative experience of Abby’s life was the week she spent on a service trip in Bois de Laurence, Haiti, where she decided she wanted to study international aid and development. Abby hopes to make an impact in eliminating poverty and its effects in the developing world.
	Alexander Nocks is a senior government major from Wyoming, Ohio. He is the author of a forthcoming report regarding Ohio’s parole process for the Ohio Justiceand Policy Center and a Research Fellow at the Project on International Peace and Security. Elsewhere on campus, he is the Logistics Co-Chair for TEDxCollege of William & Mary and a member of the Student Conduct Council.
	Andrew Creekmore is a junior at the College and is double majoring in Public Policy and Computer Science. He has a passion for politics and political data, and interned with the Virginia Democratic Party during the 2016 election. Having studied abroad in Cardiff, Wales during the spring of 2017, Andrew is also keenly interested how different political systems function in countries around the world. He is involved with the AEPi fraternity on campus as well as the Association for Computing Machinery, and wants to be a political data analyst after graduation.
	Angela Yost is a sophomore at the College and is majoring in International Relations with a possible minor in East Asian Studies. She has a passion for other cultures and languages, especially Japanese and Spanish. On campus, Angela is an active member in Salsa Club. She loves going social dancing and learning Latin American dances. She also is a dedicated weightlifter who enjoys training and goofing off in the gym. In the future, Angela hopes to work as a foreign service officer or analyst.
	Brianna Ferebee is a Junior at the College of William and Mary from Chesapeake, VA. She is an International Relations major with a passion for human rights and development, which has been highlighted by her membership in the college chapter of NAACP and her experience abroad in Cape Town, South Africa where she tutored children from a local township. Both experiences have led to her interest in this seminar and she is excited for this opportunity. In the future, Brianna hopes to continue pursuing her passion in law school as an International Human Rights Lawyer and knows that this seminar will be helpful in achieving her goals.
	Corey York is currently a junior at the college, majoring in Government and minoring in History. After serving over five years in the Marine Corps, Corey has traveled to over 14 countries whether for work or leisure- to include VIP support for SecState and POTUS at the 2014 NATO Wales Conference. Corey has also partaken in a summer internship in a U.S. Senator’s office where he learned about domestic politics. Post-baccalaureate Corey hopes to apply to Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service for International Securities studies. On campus, he is the President of Student Veterans at William & Mary. Corey’s career goals are to serve within the international security apparatus of the federal government.
	Emily Asinger is currently a Senior studying International Relations through the William and Mary St. Andrews Joint Degree Programme. Studying across two countries has given her a unique perspective on International Relations, allowing her to understand differing perspectives on issues confronting the world today. On campus, Emily is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority as well as the women’s cricket team in St. Andrews. She is excited to use this opportunity as way to see how policy is crafted and enacted in a real- world setting.
	Grace Elman is a freshman at William & Mary tentatively pursuing a degree in Public Policy and on track to complete the 3+2 engineering program with Columbia University for Chemical Engineering. She grew up in Arlington, Virginia (so “Studying in DC” is nothing new), and received the International Baccalaureate diploma. On campus, Grace is a Sharpe Scholar and a member of the SAS Advisory Committee. She is the Concert Mistress of the W&M Women’s Chorus, and loves to hang out at the AXO sorority house and BCM gatherings in her spare time. Grace is thrilled to learn more about foreign policy through hands-on experience in her favorite city!
	Henry Young
	John Napoli is a sophomore at the College planning on majoring in Government. He was born in Hanover, New Hampshire and currently calls Wilmington, Delaware home. He has also lived in Australia and Chile and has studied in Spain. John currently is a member of the William and Mary sailing team, and the Public Health Club. He has also worked with the Office of Community Engagement on the 7 Generations Pre-Orientation Program. He is primarily focused on foreign policy and international healthcare development, and hopes that the Foreign Policy DC Winter Seminar will greatly benefit his studies and personal interests. Recreationally, he enjoys hiking, running, and reading science fiction and fantasy novels. He is very excited to be studying in Washington over the winter!
	Julia Tan I'm a sophomore majoring in Public Policy. I grew up in New Jersey, but currently live in Brooklyn, NY. At W&M, I'm involved with Club Gymnastics, Filipino-American Student Association (FASA), and Steer Clear. Last year, I was a Sharpe scholar and worked on a project researching local initiatives on food sustainability through Farm-to-School programs. I'm also a Real Madrid fan who loves canoeing and hopes to study abroad in Spain during my time at the college. As a recently declared PubPol major, I look forward to learning about practical applications of policy and furthering my knowledge on foreign affairs.
	Lauren Anelli I am currently a junior at the College, and I am a pursuing a double majorin Government and Classics. I am from New Jersey, but this summer I had the chance to study abroad in the Czech Republic, where I studied Contemporary European Politics. I am now excited to study Foreign Policy in Washington D.C. to continue my passions for traveling and learning about new cultures. On campus, I am involved with the William and Mary Mock Trial team and on the executive board for my sorority.

	Matthew Crittenden I am a freshman Monroe Scholar from Chesapeake, Virginia. I hope to double-major in International Relations and Data Science and am interested in unofficially minoring in Latin American Studies. Specifically, I am pursuing an education concentrated on Latin American Developmental Aid. Outside of class, I am a member of Students Helping Honduras and International Relations Club, and attend church on Sunday mornings with Agape Christian Fellowship. I regularly lift weights at the campus rec center and attend group fitness classes for barre and yoga.
	Natalie Blodgett
	Olivia Thompson is currently a freshman at William and Mary, planning on double majoring with Psychology and Sociology with a concentration in either Criminology & Law or Social Problems, Policy, & Justice. She is working in the Cohen Career Center as a Career Ambassador and is an active volunteer in the Southside Virginia Emergency Crew. She is passionate in international law and law enforcement and psychological influences within society. Olivia is not settled on a particular career path but hopes to find a position within the government combining psychology with international policy management.
	Zhengyuan Ling is a junior international student majoring in International Relations and History with a concentration on diplomatic history. Zhengyuan speaks English, Chinese and intermediate-level Spanish. He has spent time in Taiwan, Japan, Eastern Asia, and lived in Washington, DC and Jackson, WY. Zhengyuan is a Sharpe Scholar and has conducted community-based research of the household registration system in China. Zhengyuan is involved in the William & Mary Confucius Institute, playing the traditional instrument Erhu with the Chinese ensemble. He heads the media branch of the William & Mary Chinese Students and Scholars Association assisting international students and visiting scholars with communication services, and facilitating the popularization of Chinese culture on campus. He hopes to pursue a career related to diplomatic history and international relations.
X	Jacob Ross Jacob Ross is currently a junior at the College from Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. He plans to major in Government and pursue an Accounting minor. On campus, he writes for the sports section of the Flat Hat and runs with Team Blitz, the running club. Outside of academics, he enjoys reading, writing, and hiking and he is an avid Philadelphia sports fan. Following graduation, he hopes to work in some capacity for the government and he is excited to take advantage of all the opportunities the DC Winter Seminar has to offer.
